Brigi worked as an Office Manager for big multinational companies for 20 years and managed to transform her previous experiences and knowledge into a portable carrier.
She became a PM Systems expert after up-skilling and now provides customized systems and operation solutions for heart-centered and neurodivergent entrepreneurs.

What were the circumstances that allowed/caused your reinvention?

“Because of my husband’s work we move every 2-3 years. I wanted to create something continuous in my life, that I can bring with me to each new post.”

What challenged you most at first, and/or during the transition?

Not knowing where to start, and what steps to follow was no guidebook that I could just pick up from the shelf and follow. I had to research every step I had to take.”

RESKILLING AND UPSKILLING

She looked into a course, one to work from home. She found a military mum and she was teaching a Virtual Assistance task. Started doing social media, had a few clients, then she built her business that grew in little time.

Soon enough she was curious to see what else was there, and learned about a digital business management and felt it exactly was she likes to do.

Systems operations, team and project management. And it’s a type of portable business.

So Brigi finds a job that she likes, that she finds aligned with her skills, and she can do anywhere her family needs to move.

Having this portable job represents for Brigi a continuity she can rely on. Building a community every time is time consuming.

COMMINITY TO BELONG AND COMMINITY TO WORK WITH

Brigi joins the American Women’s Association, which gives her a community of like-minded people.

Professionally, she wanted to be able to continue doing something she loves, and she feels able to help others.

For some families the constant moving country is a big disruption.

Brigi feels it as a mission to help other women that struggle to figure out what they can do when they land in a new place. In one of her posting Brigi met a writer, a psychiatrist, a lawyer. They are all people with jobs and knowledge, but that can use temporarily, and often are not allowed to practice in a new country. May this be a VISA issue, a qualification recognition or the language barrier.

Brigi wants to help them find a new way to be active professionally and has created a Business club.

Our two missions are aligned as we both want to help and support women to see new opportunities even when your profession is not viable in the new country.

Being introverted and having little confidence sometimes are the biggest blocks to finding ways to be active.

This is one of the reasons why I am working on a new project I want you to hear about.

A community, a co-working space, and a learning space all under the same roof.

So that all those people like you, that have a dream, an idea, or a seed for a new project won’t feel alone and will have a community to tap into. Like minded people that work side by side to their new business idea or career path, with a dedicated learning space.

It will be by invitation, and will host monthly meetings online.

BRIGI’S NEW WAY OF WORKING

INDIVIDUAL TRAITS IN EVERYONE’S WORK

Brigi has been recently diagnosed with ADHD. This discovery made her understand a lot about the way she has studied since she was a child, the way she thinks and organizes her life. This big understanding made her think that she could be of great help to her clients who might be having  neurodivergent traits.

Brigi explains the difference between linear project systems, from start to deadline and other projects that are not linear at all. This represents a tailored support Brigi can offer to her clients.

Multipotentialite people similarly might struggle in aligning to systems that don;t work the way they do.

A simple to do list can be brain energy draining for non linear thinkers. Brigi explains how she plans work and schedules with set blocks of time. These methods work better for people who are used to a squiggle type of thinking.

Brigi mentions the Pomodoro technique. Briefly explained, it is a time management task, where you set a 25 minutes timer to work fully focused on a task. When the timer is on, you take a break of 5 minutes. After 4 sets of 25 minutes you take a longer pause.

SETTING NEW HABITS

Brigi shares a tip: tie a new habit to an existing one.

She said that it is easier to start a new habit when we pair it to a one that is already established.

For example start reading or journal right after the first cup of drink you are having in the morning. Incrementally we progress better with known patterns.

VISION BOARD, HER CREATIVE PRACTICE

Everyone is creative and creativity needs to emerge.

My podcast has been a study with so many guests sharing their story, a pattern emerged about creativity.

For many it came as a natural progression, or something to return to. Those people who were not giving space or expressing their creativity, consequences came knocking at their door in the form of discomfort, stress, or physical pain. Once they reconnected with their creative part of themselves the energy came back to flow.

Brigi tells the story of her Vision Board. She started her first one after they moved for the first time in Bahrein, an experience that she enjoyed a lot and it was their first post..

She added everything that was important for her on the board: practicing yoga, having friends, community, healing, joy of living in that place.

In every country they lived, she searched for signs to bring that happy feeling back.

HEAL, RETREAT, HOME, HEALTH, GLOW, NOURISH, “ I AM A CREATOR”

Work in progress, ever changing.

“All of life comes to me with ease, joy and glory. “This motto is from Access Bars technique, of which Brigi is also a practitioner.
